This morning Warner Bros. narrowed their Green Lantern choices down to three actors… Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, and Justin Timberlake. Well, they have made their decision! The Green Lantern has been cast! Ryan Reynolds will play the live action Hal Jordan. This is awesome! Here is a guy that has become a hit in the fanboy/fangirl community, because of his role as Deadpool in Fox’s Wolverine pic. He has also been scoring brownie points with the fan’s by the way he is talking about his new Deadpool Spin-off film.
We did a little poll earlier, and asked you ,who you wanted to see play Hal Jordan. The majority of the people that voted went with Bradley Cooper, so I am sorry to break the news that he didn’t make, and thankfully neither did Justin Timberlake.
We have had several discussions about who would make the best Green Lantern, and surprisingly, Ryan Reynolds never came up! I guess we all just figured he was in the Marvel world, and he wouldn’t go DC, what ever the reason is it doesn’t matter. All I know is that I am 100% satisfied with the choice that Warner Bros. has made. Ryan Reynolds will make a great Hal Jordan, and I’m sure he’ll look good in the costume as well. Ryan Reynolds is now both a Marvel and DC superhero! Who would’ve thought.
Martin Campbell is the guy directing the movie, based off the script written by Greg Berlanti.

He was by far my favourite part about 'Wolverine' so I'm really excited about this.

He's better off as Wally / Flash II IMO. Not bad though, at least it ain't JT.

@darkyun888: It was announced he was the Flash? He would fit that role like a glove! Way better than Hal Jordan. Take him off this movie, dump him onto The Flash, and get Nathan Fillion to be Hal Jordan.
Bah! this sucks . . . he needs to be Deadpool . . . make that movie first and then go do something else, granted, I like GL, but I love DP . . . do that . . . damnit, ish a SAD panda

Great news and a coup for WB's to take Reynolds away from the small time deadend Deadpool film. Now the GL film has a chance to be epic and fun much like Iron Man. Timberlake or Cooper as a lead in a big time franchise type of sci film like GL ??

I second the motion for Reynolds to be the Flash, I pictured someone more all American to play GL, that's just me though.
all american is supose to mean what? that statmant doest make sense seeing america is a melting pot of the world ,so does all american mean someone like say denzel washington? or lets say mark anthony? or lets say george lopez? or do you mean someone more white looking? ryan reynolds looks pretty white to me i dont know about all-amercan looking though deff european looking though, you should have said that instead ,yes ( I pictured someone more european to play GL,that's just me though. )
It seems a little odd to me that he would be two different comic book characters with films coming out the same year — I expect one of these to fall off his radar.

I would imagine some conflict of intrest, what with him playing deadpool and all. What if he purposely botches the part purposely in a conspiracy to make DC look like asses? As great an actor as he may be he's a little too on the feminine side to play a character like Hal Jordan, Whom radiates overwhelming amounts of red blooded american male bravado. I guess he'll do, sorry phil.
All-American: Representative of the United States and their ideals. So yeah maybe Denzel, being that he is born and bred, but Lopez and Anthony? way too ethnic. So yeah Reynolds my fit the profile except that HE'S CANADIAN!!! so say it with me. uncle sam-isad-oosh-bag

Im all for Reynolds, he can surely do the serious/badass character that GL is going to call for, just check out Amityville Horror or the last hour of Smokin Aces. I wont lie I didnt think they would cast him as both Deadpool and GL but im excited to see what he does with the roles. I probably would have boycotted the film if JT was cast, that would be a tragedy. I agree with OrangeRush too, Canada is the best and I dont wanna live anywhere else. FYI: Its legal to walk around topless in downtown Toronto too

All i know is that this movie better be amazing, green lantern is my all time favorite dc character and possibly all over. Not to mention hal Jordan is my favorite green lantern. Although i admit reynolds might make a better rayner than jordan, hopefully they can pull this off and we won't be dissapointed
I thought he would of made a better Flash then a Green Lantern becuase Flash is the funny guy who talks alot like Deadpool in Wolverine, I just cant really picture Ryan as a serious actor only as the funny guy in all his movies.

i've always considered DC and Marvel comics to be arch enemies. i like the justice league and all, but i have always been a marvel person deep down. i just don't see how someone can be that involved in both sides. call it a conflict of interest, or existing in two separate universes, but i just feel a little bit betrayed. double dipping in these two franchises should not be allowed.
Totally agree. He'd be way better as Flash. And Nathan Fillion would be a great Hal Jordan. The die is cast. We'll see how it plays out.
Sounds good to me. If DC goes the route of Dark Knight with Green lantern it will be awesome…JUST KEEP BRIAN SINGER AWAY!!!!!!

I don't know how this will work. Playing a Super in two different movie franchises for two different studios will be a headache. While both characters are extremely different, it's hard to tell how it'll work out seeing as this has never been done before! No actor has played to super heroes at around the same time!
my vote would've been for Jon Hamm. Now there is a guy who could've brought the A game to Hal Jordan. That great golden-age hollywood sensibility.
this will totally suck. He is not a good actor, always the same type of attitude: cocky and funny guy. Although i like the green lantern series, i will surely skip this one once i see the trailer.
Am I the only one who thinks that Nathan Fillion would be PERFECT as Hal Jordan? Yes, I understand that Reynolds is climbing the comic status ladder, but I really think that Fillion would be a perfect fit in the Green Lantern Corps.
I think you read way too many Marvel comics. I don't know if you know it, but Canada it's NOT the source of all evil!
I don't think that it is a good idea for him to jump the marvel ship. Let us not forget that the DP character is the second marvel character he has played, (Hannibal King-Blade 3). He should stay with Marvel his persona on that he brings to his characters he plays better fits the Marvel Universe. Someone like Patrick Wilson who can bring a calmer more down to Earth attitude to a the Green Lantern character.
