STAR WARS TV Show Will Be a Family Drama

Australian actress Rose Byrne, who stars in the TV show Damages, and also had a very small role as Dorme, one of Princess Amidala’s handmaidens in Attack of the Clones, recently did an interview in which she talks about her Star Wars experiences. She is then asked about the new live-action Star Wars TV series currently in development, which we know very little about, and this is what she say’s:
Yes! A friend of mine is actually one of the writers on the show. It’s set in space. I think it’s like a family drama, as well, or something? I think he melted a few ideas together for it.
This is some very interesting news. The live-action Star Wars TV series is going to be a family drama. I know when it was announced that Battlestar Galactica’s prequel series Caprica would be a family drama, it turned a lot of fans off, even though the first part that was released for it was really good. The “family drama” description doesn’t bother me at all. Just because it is a family drama doesn’t mean it wont be good, so don’t let it turn you off, its still Star Wars. The whole series of films is one big family drama if you think about it.
I’m looking forward to this Star Wars TV Series. It will be a hell of a long time before we see it, but there is a lot of potential for a great series. What do you think?

I'm looking forward to it and Caprica.I have the Caprica dvd and we've sat around and watched it several times now,i love the back story. I can see a Star Wars tv show being a huge hit regardless and if it's any bit like Caprica it'll work! We all know George Lucas and Rick McCallum isn't going to force anything out,it's gonna be right!
Call me crazy, but I would gladly take the "family drama" over the pathetic attempts at epic storytelling that we have seen in the last three Star Wars flicks.
OH GOD WHYYYYY….WHY MUST TURN OUT TO BE GAY…
Dear god why. lucas need to get a realty check.
I've been hearing of this series since 2004. Forget about it. Even if it does come out it's going to be a waste of time. Star Wars is becoming a muddy mess of a franchise!
Unfortunately it makes too much money, but I think Star Wars needs a break and a reboot of sorts. Someone besides Lucas needs to take a stab at the series; someone with passion for bringing integrity back to Star Wars.
This news does not surprise me. All six star wars films were essentially "family dramas." I was not expecting something dark and gritty. Afterall, this is a universe where there are wookies and ewoks in it. You can't get TOO serious.
