The biggest complaint really isn't that the Twihards physically took up the seats in the panels before Twilight - people staying through two or three panels just to see the one they really like is nothing new. The real reason people were upset about the placement of the Twilight panel is that the majority of the Twihards seem to be unable to keep quiet in other panels. They screamed all throughout the Disney and 3D panels, making it impossible for anyone to really appreciate those panels. I mean, really - screams of "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" are inappropriate during Tron 2 previews.

I had been planning on attending the SDCC a few years ago, but never really scraped together enough money/or a good plan to get there (always chasing the dream...) But now I'm not sure if I every want to go. The whole thing is now more about movies and tv shows and even videogames, than it is about comics. I understand Marvel being there promoting Iron Man and all that, but what does Twilight have to do with comics? or Pineapple Express?

These movies and tv shows should have their own event separate from Comic-Con (San Diego Movie Con? San Diego Media Con?) . It would alleviate at least a little bit of the crowd and perhaps return Comic-Con to its intended purpose of supporting the medium of comics. Plus, I've been to large panels and events like this outside of comic-con. They're ok, but not something I would ever wait for hours or days to see.

If SDCC were held during the school year, that Twilight panel wouldn't fill up a regular room.

I'm not going, not I find all this talk of "hardcore geek" talk silly. I'm a hardcore film fan, not just one film or franchise. I think it's sad, if Twilight fans only care about their own movie.
