As Doctor Who fans know very well, the tenth man to play the time traveler from Galifrey, David Tennant, will be ending his run on the critically acclaimed Doctor Who. But before he finishes off the last few episodes and passes the sonic screwdriver to Matt Smith, David will be reprising his role of the 900 year old Time Lord in a new animated feature Dreamland.This is also not the first time David Tennant has played the character in an animated feature either. David Tennant, and then co star Freema Agyeman (my favorite of The Doctor’s companions), previously lent their voices for the animated feature Doctor Who: The Infinte Quest, but where that was traditional 2D animation, Dreamland will be computer generated.

The story will feature the tenth Doctor as he travels to fight aliens in THE one place that is synonymous with alien encounters…Roswell New Mexico U.S. That is right. The Doctor is crossing the pond for this animated feature. IO9 has this to say about the story and the other characters that will appear:

During a visit to a local diner he stumbles upon a mysterious alien artifact that leads him on a mission to rescue Rivesh Mantilax from the threat of the Viperox and the clutches of the American military.

Joining David Tennant will be Georgia Moffett (Doctor Who, Spooks) in the role of Cassie Rice – the Doctor’s new animated companion.

David Warner (Wallander, Hogfather) also stars as the leader of the ruthless Viperox.

I for one am glad we get some more with Tennant. He was my favorite Doctor out of them all. I always felt that he simply GOT the character better than anyone else has. But I am looking forward to the next incarnation and i hope it all comes out well.
