First Movie Poster For James Cameron’s AVATAR

The first movie poster for James Cameron’s Avatar has surfaced online today over at Latinoreview. The poster features Zoe Saldana’s character in the film as one of the Na’vi aliens that reside on the planet Pandora. We brought you the first high resolution image of Sam Worthington’s character, and if your interested in the footage that was shown at Comic-Con, then please click here. The 25 minutes of footage that was shown to us at the con blew my mind! This movie is going to change the way movies are made, just like Star Wars did in the 70’s. Don’t forget August 21st is Avatar Day, and 15 minutes of footage will be shown in 3-D in theaters around the country for free.

My biggest problem with the poster is the fact that they advertise that it is as coming from the director of Titanic. Sure it’s true, but I don’t think this is going to appeal to a Titanic type market, I’m thinking more Terminator, and Aliens.  Check out the poster below and let us know what ya think!

Of course they're gonna slap Titanic on that poster. It's, financially speaking, the biggest movie ever. And one of the best films ever made, yeah I said it.

I hope the movie impresses me more than this poster.

    thats a bad poster

looks very cheap and just because "from the director of titanic" is on the poster doesn't make it better.

Idk Dr. Venkman, I think this movie is going to appeal to everyone because it is going to be such an experience. Like back in 77, everyone saw Star Wars, people had no idea what they were watching. I believe the same will be true for Avatar

They need to slap Titanic on it because he hasn't done anything SINCE Titanic…

I'm tentatively very excited for this flick. If anyone can bring movie tech to the next level it'll be Cameron.

    This movie looks terrible.

Joss Whedon called and he wants his typeface for "Serenity" back.

That looks like videogame boxart (Starcraft?) What about some real hype "a film event like nothing you've ever seen" or some such hyperbolic nonsense. This is supposedly an epic movie, so promote it as such.
