Ghostbusters Ernie Hudson Joins the Cast of Heroes

Ernie Hudson who played Winston in Ghostbusters, and also had a good run on the HBO series Oz, has joined the cast of NBC’s Heroes. He will play Captain Lubbock, a Baltimore detective.
The upcoming fourth season of Heroes introduces a major new mythology about a traveling carnival of people with special powers run by a charismatic but evil Earth-moving ringleader played by Robert Knepper.
Heroes started out strong with the first season, but it has lost its way. The show should have gone in a totally different direction than where it has ended up. The first mistake they made was bringing the Petrelli brothers back in season two. They should have both made the ultimate sacrifice and really died at the end of season one, that would have been the smart thing to do. Keeping them alive took the series in a direction it shouldn’t have gone. At this point there is no real threat of anyone dying that is a main character, but they have no problem killing off the likable guest characters who are far more interesting.
But, this season might be cool. I like the idea of a traveling carnival of freaks with superpowers. It could be a great story line but chances are they will take it in the wrong direction like the rest of the show. What do you all think?

Hey more HBO movies with a "kick" bring it on baby…
This sounds fantastic. I agree that Heroes lost it's way. I think that the travelling carnival of freaks powers' will be linked somehow to each individuals freakiness, if you know what I mean…
Love that Ernie Hudson is joining the cast! Big Ghostbuster fan! However, it sounds similar to his role as a cop in "The Crow". I can already see Hudson playing this sort of confused, bewildered officer who's trying to figure it all out, and as such, it's already seeming obvious that Heroes will once again go the lame, predictable route as before. The series was good, GREAT even in season 1. While I don't agree to the Petrelli's being killed off, it does seem the show has no idea how to captivate and shock audiences. Stop trying to be 'LOST' and start trying to be a show about Super Heroes…
Exciting! Heroes definitely lost its spark in season 2 & the beginning of season 3, but the end of season 3 had me on the edge of my seat! It definitely got me re-interested in the show & re-focused on the main characters.
I'm not sure how I feel about them introducing a whole slew of new characters with the carnival, but whatever, I know I'll watch the show anyway.
