Seth Rogen’s GREEN HORNET Film Moved Back 5 Months

The Green Hornet has gone from the release date of June 25, 2010, to July 7, 2010, and has now been pushed to December 17, 2010. It seems like the production of this movie just keeps getting worse and worse. It’s had so many production problems and they even haven’t started shooting it yet. I wish I really knew what was going on behind the scenes because I bet it pretty interesting. No reason has been given as to why the films release date has been pushed back again, but Seth Rogen recently talked to the guys at Hitfix and told them that he, Evan Goldberg, and director Michel Gondry are…

…relieved and psyched about the change. It gives more time for post, which would have been immensely rushed if we were to come out in the summer. It also affords us more time to promote the film, (now we can go to Comic-Con with more than a car!) and ultimately is a great vote of confidence from the studio. We got the same date that movies like ‘I Am Legend’ and ‘Avatar’ are getting, so we’re thrilled to be there.

I find it funny that Sony/Rogen is using the same tactics that Paramount Pictures used when they changed the Shutter Island release date, by using other successful movies that were released on the same date as the one they chose. Paramount used Silence of the Lambs, and Sony is using I Am Legend and Avatar. I have a feeling we are going to see more studios doing this when changing up release dates. Does it really matter?

I don’t have a problem with the change, The Green Hornet has gone through a lot of crap the last year, and the production has finally locked down a solid director and a Kato.

I think it's been moved back because Dr. Drew needs to take a "crack" at him before Sony's insurance will bond him. Plus, they probably need to "take out" his suit in the ass area.

Not at all. Its going to be an awful stoner comic book movie. I can't stand Seth Rogen.

They don't have a script, that's why they can't start rolling. In comparison to DISTRICT 9, a movie like this proves how Hollywood wastes money constantly. I bet the budget is over $150 million too. What a joke.
