SHAZAM! Gets a Screenwriter

Actor Bill Birch has been brought on board to reboot Shazam! which is Warner Bros. adaptation of the classic DC Comics series featuring Captain Marvel. Birch has mostly had small guest type roles in a bunch of TV series, he is currently writing Warners’ One Finger Salute which Peter Segal is attached to direct. They must like his writing style from that.
Of course comic book writer Geoff Johns will be a consultant on the project, and he will be co-writing the script with Birch, so he will be there to guide things through.
The story follows Billy Batson, a teenager who becomes Captain Marvel when he utters the magic word “Shazam!” The name is an acronym for six gods and heroes of the ancient world as well as their attributes: the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Aries, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury.
Peter Segal remains attached to direct and also is producing with Michael Ewing. What are your thoughts on the Shazam! movie?

I thought I was the Stamina of Atlas?
In order to transform into Captain Marvel, Billy must speak the wizard's name, an acronym for the six various legendary figures who had agreed to grant aspects of themselves to a willing subject: the wisdom of Solomon; the strength of Hercules; the stamina of Atlas; the power of Zeus; the courage of Achilles; and the speed of Mercury.
