Short Film That Inspired DISTRICT 9
District 9 was just released here in the U.S. and it was far more amazing that I expected and let me tell you that I expected a lot. The reason why is because of a little short film from District 9 writer/director Neill Blomkamp called Alive In Joburg. This short is actually the original inspiration for District 9 and you can quickly see a lot of the similarities between the 2 films. Check it out and let us know what you think. You can read my review of District 9 here.

Absolutely not!
WoW! District 9 was INSANE! So cool you gotta see it. Shocked me to say the least!
It's sad to note that the short film seemed more thoughtful than the long-form adaptation.
I love it. and like i said after the movie – aww, those poor aliens *hug* f*cking humans >.<
The short film makes me want to see the feature lengh Distict 9 even more.
NAh, it's actually a good prelude into it..

Anyone notice Sharlto Copley (aka Wikus Van De Merwe) in the short? He's at 3:16 in.
Yes… but it seemed he played a different role .. like an MNU soldier or something
