Batman: Arkham Asylum Sells 2 Million Units, Already?

Now it may be crude to point out that most IP based games usually sell well. However, most don’t hold a merit of also being a spectacular game.
The new Batman game, the highly anticipated and now critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum has already sold about 2 million units since its release on August 25th. The L.A. Times reports, this is a record breaker for a superhero game. It’s success is due to the high critical ratings and well received reviews of the game, which brought back nearly all of the original voice talent from Batman: The Animated Series.
The game itself is great. Arkham Asylum is setting the example for games that are both a faithful IP video game adaptation, and can also sell well. Hopefully future developers who own IP based movies and Superhero games will learn from Batman: Arkham Asylum and make amazing games for their retrospective IP’s. So we hardcore gamers won’t have to complain why these suck on a constant basis.
