Maybe its just me but American television cartoons for the most part suck but one of the last shows that I really really loved was Batman Beyond. The show was about a boy named Terry who takes over as the caped crusader in a future Gotham City. Bruce Wayne acts his support and mentor for the new generation of Batman. The show unfortunately was canceled a few years back much to the disappointment of the fans. I being one of them. Fans have been asking for years to bring it back and although we did get a straight to DVD movie several years ago, fans still want more.
There will be a Terry McGinnis mini-series early next year. We’ve heard the fans, we’ve heard everyone’s interest. And right now we’re planning to put out a Batman Beyond mini-series in 2010.
That is the statement from Dan Didio who spoke to Newsarama about the project.
The show may not be coming back for a full run but at least Warner Bros hasn’t forgotten about it. Maybe if ratings are good it will return for a full run. I am still excited. I want to see more from this futuristic Gotham City. Hopefully there will be more fights between this “futuristic” Batman and the Jokers. Or maybe another showdown with Blight or Live Wire. Who knows…. it will more than likely be great though. No word yet on the story but we will let you know as we hear more.
On a side note the Bat-mobile from Beyond is the best one ever!!!! Its a frickin’ hover-car!!!

So I am only human and I make mistakes just like any one else. Apparently this is for a new COMIC BOOK mini series from DC. Which is still pretty damn cool. So…Epic Fail on my part? Yes. But like I said I am not perfect and I apologize for getting your hopes up for a new show. Feel free to make personal comments against me in the comment section…. I deserve it.
I also liked Batman Beyond,love finding it's reruns when i get lucky! Bring it on back Powers That Be!

I could be reading you wrong, but just to make sure, I'm pretty sure Didio is talking about a comic book miniseries.
It's a comic book miniseries, not a new TV series.
The show was great, I really loved the movie too, how it tied the new with the old. I would love to see Nightwing/Dick Grayson in the future, that would be awesome.

Thanks 4 posting geek! Batman Beyond is still one of my all-time fav animations – I even named my first novel's character, a beautiful assassin, after a character from BB, but in Japanese! The soundtrack was great, the characters were very cool and I loved the relationship between Terry and Bruce – even Ace, the dog was a cool character. I am very excited to hear of this comeback and like you, hope it continues on for a full run. I have all episodes both on DVD and on my computer including the two movies. Guess I'm the real geek here!

at first I really didnt like batman beyond, but I have warmed up to it over time. I wish they would do alot alot more futuristic versions of villains. I never saw a future riddler! There HAS to be some nut in the future who idolizes riddler!! lol. I really loved the dvd movies the whole time though. Return of the Joker is the bomb!!!

Need to do the Batman Beyond origin story as a live action movie soon–it has to be done while the PERFECT aged Bruce Wayne still lives: Clint Eastwood. Is there a better hard-jawed, steely-eyed, gravel-voiced badass on the planet who can deliver that part? No. Want to see it!
