Chloe Moretz Cast in LET THE RIGHT ONE IN Remake Philip Seymour Hoffman Rumored

According to Chloe Moretz’s imdb message board, she has been offered the role of Abby who is known as Eli in the original in the Matt Reeves directed remake of Let The Right One In. Abby is the young vampire girl in the story. There were some audition tapes that leaked onto the web not to long ago that showed Moretz’s audition. Not only was she very good in the audition but she is a rising star in Hollywood. She recently was in 500 Days of Summer, and plays Hit Girl in the upcoming film Kick-Ass. I think she will do great in the role. My problem is the fact that the movie is getting re-made in the first place. It not her fault, it’s Matt Reeves fault. I don’t know why he feels he needs to re-make it. The original film is perfect as is. If you haven’t seen it watch it now.

Kodi Smit Mcphee (The Road) has already been cast as Owen, who is also known as Oskar in the original story.
There is also a rumor that actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has been cast in the film as well. This rumor comes from /film who got the info from a source. There are no details on if he is really cast and who he will play. If he is cast in the movie I think it’s fairly obvious that he will take the role of Hakan, whose named will most definitely be changed for the remake. Hakan is the older man that was taking care of the young vampire girl. He would go out into the night killing people for their blood.
So the cast of this unwanted remake is coming together, and it’s a pretty strong cast. Now all we need is for Matt Reeves to realize that this is a ridiculous idea and stop.
Oh yeah! I forgot to remind you that movie is going to be renamed Let Me In.

The fact that "Eli" could be considered a boy or a girls name is pretty important to the story so don't know why they would chance it to Abby…. major problems with this remake! LOVE the original.
I agree, remaking an outstanding film that is still out in circulation, when they could just release it PROPERLY here in the USA, is stupid and insulting. Another example of Hollywood bullshit from the fear factories that crank out movies-by-committee. Instead of slapping his nads all over someone else's work and legacy, why doesn't Matt Reeves spend his money and efforts on *gasp* coming up with some original ideas?
Nobody saw it? Because nobody put it in theaters. Distribution and marketing are critical, and no matter how many people say they liked it, if they can't find it they won't be able to watch it.
The original movie is well worth seeing. It is tender, disturbing, and sucks you in very quickly. The photography is excellent, and the actors are amazing. So WTF??? And the original title is much better than "Let Me In." So heavy-handed. *pukes* That is all.
This will never come close to the brilliance of "Let The Right One In". Never, ever, ever, never.
All of you seem to forget that the original film was not in English and American audiences do not like to read (which is a very sad truth) Since Twilight, there is a new vampire craze specifically targeted at the teen audience; a demographic that does not like to read even more.
This movie was not THAT good. First of all at towards the end of the film the girl is such a badass at killing; why the hell did se even need the older man Hakan to kill for her? Not for one second did i believe there was ANY chemistry between the two young characters. They show no REAL interaction between the two men that are, 'Best Friends"; so how are you supposed to really feel the loss that the man feels? You don't see any deep friendship between the young characters. You can't even expect a relationship between them as something more because in reality she is aging inside as an old woman ( which is clearly what she and Hakan were). This movie had potential to be great…
I thought the movie was beautifully shot but missed many aspects from the original book. I can't imagine the Hollywood version will be anything like the original one or dare to touch on the subjects that the original missed so why bother making it?
lot about you
