Concept Art Image for Duncan Jones Next Film MUTE

A few months back I had the privileged to see Duncan Jones‘ directorial debut Moon and I was simply amazed at how incredible that film was. I also had that honor to interview Duncan and it was obvious to me that he is the director that the Science Fiction genre needs right now. During that meeting, Duncan spoke, very briefly, about his next film that was tentatively titled Mute.

Jones described Mute as being a sci-fi film noir set in a futuristic Berlin. He has made it very clear that Blade Runner was a huge inspiration for the project, and as you can see from the image below, he wasn’t kidding.

The film will have a role for Sam Rockwell, but we don’t know how big it will be. who also starred in Moon, and will play a mute bartender that scours Berlin’s criminal underworld to find his missing girlfriend. Mute is also said to take place in the same “world” as Moon, with a loose connection to tie the films into the same universe.

Thanks go out to the good folks over at SlashFilm for sharing the first bit of concept art for Mute.
