Lots of Details on RAMBO V: THE SAVAGE HUNT

RamboV

As you may have heard Sylvester Stallone is moving forward with Rambo 5, he will once again star in, write , and direct. All we knew is what the Hollywood trades told us, and that was that Rambo would fight his way “through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border.” Now a ton of new information has surfaced and it come from Stallone himself to AICN. What he say’s is much more exciting!

He explains:

The film will be set in the Pacific Northwest. Back in the general area where we first were introduced to John. It seems that somewhere in that Area there is a U.S. Military installation that is doing experiments on elite soldiers as part of some sort of program where they’re attempting to tap into that savagery that we have deeply embedded into us. The plan is create brilliantly instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about taking life. Sly brought up the ancient Immortals, which were cartoonishly glimpsed in 300. In reality, they were children trained from the time they were infants to kill.

Well as happens with Government Experiments to create the perfect killer – it goes exceptionally well… and then exceptionally badly. And Rambo is brought in with a Black Ops squad (”Like in PREDATOR”) to hunt, capture or kill this worse than Rambo killer.

After that little explanation, he left a voice mail for Harry at AICN in response to some of the talk backs that they got and he goes into much more detail. You can listen to that voice mail by Clicking Here. Ya gotta love the guy for being so awesome to the fans, he actually listens to what the bloggers and you all have to say.

Now here is the official synopsis for the film: Rambo V: The Savage Hunt.

JOHN RAMBO could track anyone – or – anything – on earth. Now the MILITARY desperately needs him for a mission that his ultrasensitive instincts tell him he should refuse. A BEAST is loose somewhere north of the ARCTIC CIRCLE. It has already decimated a secret research facility and annihilated a SQUAD of elite MILITARY GAURDS. And the raging CREATURE is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation.

It’s a job that RAMBO and his 22 year old hunting partner, BEAU BRADY can’t turn down, but they and a TEAM of Highly skilled SPECIAL FORCES KILL TEAM discover that the prey is a terror beyond their wildest imagination, a half-human abomination created by renegade agency through a series of outlawed genetic experiments. It has man’s cunning, a predator’s savageness, and a prehistoric power that has transended the ages. And even if RAMBO and BEAU survive its unrelenting hunger for human blood, they’ll still have to confront the grim reality that it may have grown immortal.

As much as I was turned off by the fact that they are making a fifth Rambo film, this sounds pretty freakin awesome! This is Rambo in a setting like we have never seen him before! It’s like if Rambo were to hunt The Predator, or The Hulk. It just seems like a fantastically fun and exciting idea. I want to see this movie! When using words like, decimated, annihilated, raging, bloody devastation, KILL TEAM, terror, abomination, savageness, transended, unrelenting, and immortal in a plot synopsis for a film, you can’t go wrong.

I am pretty excited now to see this movie come to life! I think it will work, and I think it will be a big hit among the fanboys and fangirls.Rambo going after some kind of experimental creature is just awesome. What do you all think? After learning what Rambo V: The Savage Hunt really is, will you go see it?

  4. knox on September 6th, 09

  5. @guuthulhu on September 6th, 09

I agree. It'll be nice to seem some real fire and explosions. At this point, I could care less of plot. Just gimme some good old-fashioned R violence and mayhem.

ok, back the fukn truck up. how in the fuk do we go from first blood (grim realistic style) to rambo 2 and 3 (complete cartoons) to rambo 4 (back to a gritty realism) all the way to some fukd up rambo vs predator?? if this was how the character would have been originally played out then ok, i could accept some of this – but its almost like making dirty harry the first responder to an alien invasion "go ahead, make my earthday!" fukn weak to the last word and period.

This is awful, even by Rambo standards.

sounds like rambo is getting a little sci-fi, (whats that movie with Jean Claude Van Damme, and Dolph Lundren where they play cyborg soldiers?) the savage hunt sounds like he's hunting indians.

  12. Hillbert on September 11th, 09

Rambo stopped being serious years ago.. this sounds like a fun flick. If nothing else to have a few laughs with/at old sly..

  13. @wereviking on September 11th, 09

The last one was pretty gory. You got to love that the whole climax involved Rambo hammering away with a .50 cal cannon.

Is this for real? I LOVED the last Rambo movie. Having been a Rambo fan from the very first film, loved the second, scratched my head at the third. This new movie sounds like the movie the Wolverine Origins movie should have been. I look forward to this new Rambo.
