MTV’s Teen Wolf cast: Pitt and Sursara?

According to reports, MTV has cast two leads in their journey for scripted television, hiring actors Michael Pitt and Elissa Sursara to headline the reinvention of Teen Wolf, the television series.

While the concept of adapting Teen Wolf to television has received negative coverage from skeptics, MTV’s Liz Gateley has assured fans of the original film that the adaption will not fail to impress.

Cough.

“”It’s a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the centre who provide a great comedy element: They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques,” Gateley said of the influence, but claimed the adaption will center on horror, with a romantic story line.

28-year-old Pitt found mainstream fame starring opposite Sandra Bullock in Murder by Numbers and was reportedly the first considered for the role of Scott Howard, despite earlier reports the network had sought to cast Tom Welling.

However, 21-year-old Elissa Sursara is, in contrast, a relative unknown and began her career as a child model before appearing on television in the US and Brazil. Sursara is often confused with Mexican model Katarina Vargas in image search results.

MTV is yet to confirm the casting.

Teen Wolf, the television series, aims to debut in 2010.
