Season 9 of Smallville is upon us, and I couldn’t be more excited. Yeah I still watch it! And if your not, then your really missing out on a great show. I’m excited to see where the characters go this season. We learned a few things at comic-con this year such as Tom Welling is now a producer on the show and he will be directing a couple episodes. Allison Mack who plays Chloe will also direct an episode. Geoff Johns will be writing another episode and Clark will be dealing with issues on trying to be only a hero, leaving the personality of Clark behind. His flying issues will also be addressed. As we have also reported in the past Metallo, General Zod, and the Wonder Twins showing up in season 9.
Then there is of course Superman’s first outfit which you can see below. I’m Ok with the new look, but I want to know what you think. He’s gotta start somewhere.

About time. Doesn't have to be exactly like the Superman costume, that costume had been changing since it's creation from Action comics. Also, it's time that Clark grows up, becomes an adult and finds a balance in his life. Can lead to a different and exciting new direction for Superman and Smallville.
looks like he's from the Matrix. not too bad though, i like the dark look. season 8 was an improvement on 6 and 7, hopefully nine keeps going with that momentum
I don't know what to say… really? I agree with @omar, kinda lame…
Gough and Miller said in the beginning we'd never see Clark in the red and blue so even though Gough and Miller have moved on(kind of)this might be as close to that as we get,except of the rumor i've heard for the past few years about the already written last episode of Smallville as we might get to see "Superman" finally actually fly off wearing his red and blue! It's only a rumor!

Why choose a trench coat? Not practical for fighting. Sure, he's Superman and it's not likely that the constraints of a trench coat would restrict his movement but does he really want to buy a new trench coat each week? I'm just sayin…

i dont think he cud have gone straight to the suit we all know and love at least he has the crest and its not really a bad outfit, something someone who doesnt sew would throw together

Take away the trench coat and it's not bad. It's basically Conner Kent's current Superboy costume with a different colored crest. By costume I mean the same jeans and Superman logo t-shirt combo I regularly wore in high school. I just don't get the trench coat.
i heard they cant use the red blue suit because it is breaching copy right laws that smallville creators cant use.
wow i cant believe ive been watching this show from the beginning. im waitn for the episode where chloe's character dies. and i really really cant wait for that beyatch to go. i hope there is some relevancy to the whole matrix emo look.
You heard wrong antonius,it's been planned out from the beginning…but with Gough and Miller gone it might change…None of the characters on this show have had costumes that are exact to their comics,cartoons or movie characters…Smallville is just a take on it's own,that's why it has lasted this long!
I love that Tom Welling's boots have lifted heels.
With the long black trench and the heavy black boots, I thought "S" on the black T-shirt maybe stood for "Spike!" But Tom's hair isn't platinum……so, wrong show. ;-D
