I honestly can’t believe this! I looked at at this and thought, “there is no way in hell that this is real!” But apparently it really is real! I’m still not sure if it is legit, but it’s still pretty damn funny. For those of you who don’t know, there was a time when Tim Burton was going to direct a Superman movie and Nicolas Cage was cast as the Man of Steal, The script for Tim Burton’s film was written by Kevin Smith and then rewritten by Wesley Strick. Thank the gods that this didn’t happen! A test picture of Nic Cage in the Superman suit has leaked out, and holy hell does it look absolutely frightening.
Look at this! Look at it! Its Terrible! Were they high!? Is this even real? Everyone is saying it’s real, but it looks like Nic Cage’s head has been put on a toy Superman body??? What do you think? I have been told by several trusted people that this photo is real. The line across his neck is part of the costume, that is skin looking fabric below his neck, so his hairy chest dosen’t show.

This looks like someone took a (very bad) picture of someone in a halloween costume and shopped Cage's head on. It also looks like they scoured the internet for the worst picture of Nicholas Cage they could find.

Definitely a fake. If you look at where the shoulders meet the body you can see the grooves where the arms rotate (at the 36 – 39 second mark it is very evident that it is a toy body).

I remember at the time – wasn't this the early 90's or so – that this was all the buzz. Everyone was doing back flips for this to happen. Burton fresh off of Batman success, Nick Cage at his most popular cult status…it couldn't have been any worse than Burton's Batman movies. Yea I know I know I just lost my nerd cred by stating that I thought Tim Burton's Batman's were god awful. Tim Burton's Batman movies were just as head scratchingly awful as David Lynch's Dune. Two great directors absolutely wrong for each project.

Also, nobody seems to notice that the part where the head seems to be stitched on appears to be a fake skin fabric. I do not know why they would have that but then again the costume was a prototype.
