Review: Supernatural Season 5 Episode 1 ‘Sympathy For The Devil’

Supernatural picks right up where we left off in May with Sam killing Lilith and opening the last seal for good ole Lucifer to come on back. Well, guess what it happened and he’s returning!
This week serves as a breaking of brotherhood for Sam(Jared Padalecki) and Dean(Jenson Ackles). As Dean let’s Sam know he can’t rust him anymore. They save their old friend Bobby from one the ‘black eyed’ demons, battle the irritating rebel-angels again and find their once believed dead angel buddy Cass who returns and gives them a gift of battle and preps them for war against Lucifer.
Lucifer hovers around this episode until he finds the prefect vessel for him (a vessel had to invite you into their body), he finds a good guy in mourning and takes advantage of the situation.
There is a mention of looking for the Colt pistol that has been long gone for a few seasons now, I always thought it would play a larger role, I guess we’ll see. I also wonder if they might see their dad one more time.
Show Creator Tim Kripke kicked this season off by writing this episode himself, taking care of his awesome phenom called Supernatural himself. It looks like it’s going to be a lot darker this season, Dean only had a few smart ass lines in this one and that is always a highlight for me! Maybe they will throw in more lines next week!
Supernatural has had a 5 year story arc from the beginning so this will be the best season yet and it also might be the last since it will be ending this particular story. Hopefully they can keep this show around for much longer with new stories! To me this is one of the best shows on tv!
Supernatural airs on The CW on Thursdays at 8c.

love this show, have never missed an episode in 5 seasons ! great writing great cast !
Love this show and the season premiere was awesome! I can't say enough about the writing and the cast. Also, gotta love the use of classic rock!
The creator is Eric Kripke, not Tim Kripke, by the way. this premiere was really awesome, although I do miss the old badass Sam. Now he's all, I let out the devil. feel sorry for me. but anyway. dean is as epic as always…I love how he refers to himself as an angel condum! definitely a classic moment right there!
@Ashley: I absolutely loved the song choice for this season's flashback montage! I can't wait to see what this year's soundtrack will be like!
HELL YEAH!! SOOOOHPANATURAL 4 PRESIDENT BTW, ohyes
