Zombieland Screenwriters to take on VENOM

venom

Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Justice have been brought on board by Sony to write the new Venom spin-off movie! After Sony ruined Venom in Spider-Man 3 this new film has to be really good. Fans were pretty pissed about what they did with the character in Spider-Man. Here is a big bad ass villain, and they barely did anything with the character! I want to see a real hardcore Venom up on that big screen!

I have yet to see Zombieland but I am hearing great things, I love everything I have seen form the movie so far though. I really hope these two writers can take Venom in the right direction.  As of right now they have turned in two drafts of the script. So the movie is being worked on and things are progressing, hopefully in the right direction.

There is no word yet on when the film will actually go into production, but it doesn’t look like it will happen before Spider-Man 4, which is shooting early next year.So what do you think of the guys who are writing Venom, do you think they will do it justice?

Is spiderman going to be in the Venom spinoff? I think the best possible story line would be a team up to fight off carnage. Otherwise I dont really see this movie going anywhere. If they even think about bringing back Topher Grace I am going to rage

i don't think they ruined venom in spiderman 3. they went the ultimate path which is ok by me. i think they ruined brock, big time, his head popping up out of venom every 5 minutes ruined venom more than their actual portrayal of venom.
regardless of how they make venom in the spin off, big a beastly or lean and mean, i just hope they do him justice. goes for brock too. if they bring topher back i'm gonna cry.

i totally agree with you. i think it was definitely a different take on brock, but topher wasn't exactly what i'd call the perfect eddie, or venom for that matter. they cut a lot of corners off of him as a character to make him fit the hole, and it's square pegs in circular shapes. wouldn't work.

i'm also anticipating zombieland — the panel at comic con was absolutely awesome and gave a lot to look forward to. if these writers can handle venom, too? oh man, that'd be great. i'm sure venom/spidey fans would agree, it would be great to see a true-to-story interpretation of the character, right down to the RIGHT kind of casting. who? no idea, but definitely not topher grace.

but i echo what someone else said, primarily that, what about spidey? is he going to be in venom and vice versa with sm4? hmmmmm…. not sure what the continuity is going to be like as far as sm4's casting, but i guess we'll see.

The Venom In Spider-Man 3 was absolutely atrocious. If this film indeed does make it all the way it better be damn GREAT and dark with a good tie in, no half ripped Brad Pitt look-a-likes. Make Venom fucking huge!1!!

Two words. BROCK LESNER. yeah im sure he cant act for shit. but he could look it and he is an arrogant prick wich that makes you hate him that much more. to be honest im suprised he hasnt been asked to play a comic book villan earlier. trow some GNAR cgi on that doode and make some sick mid air fight s then you got a movie im going to see, after the disappointment from 3 my faith is pretty low with spiderman movies . Topher should have stayed in the 70's
