Bill Murray Won’t Do GHOSTBUSTERS 3 Unless there’s a Really Good Script

For the last few months news has spread through several different major media outlets which has spread out onto the movie blogs that Bill Murray would in fact be in Ghostbusters 3. This got all of the Ghostbusters fanatics like myself excited, because I have no interest in a third Ghostbusters film unless Bill Murray reprises his role as one of my favorite movie characters of all time, Dr. Peter Venkman.
Murray did a quick little interview with Absolute Radio on the red carpet for the premiere of Fantastic Mr. Fox, and he says he has yet to commit himself to Ghostbusters 3. He explains that if they want him in the film the script has to be really, really good, and until he reads it and decides if it is good or not, he’s not leaving his house.
So, here’s to hoping the Ghostbusters 3 script is really good. It would surprise me though if it wasn’t, and that ultimately Murray will pass on the project. Check out the video interview below and share your thoughts in the rant back section!

I want a 3rd GB movie more than anything, and after all this talk and speculation, I would be devastated if it fell through. But Bill Murray is right, it's got to be a great script. They can't throw something together JUST to get the guys back in uniform. The video game was a good script, but really only for a video game. It's gotta be great. And I think it's good that Bill Murray keeps talking like this, because it will force the writers to really bring their A game. Here's hoping…
He's right to be vigilant. He probably doesn't want a ressurected franchise to turn out like Indiana Jones 4 did!
I agree…like he has offers up the Whazoo coming his way! (right)
