Bryan Singer talking to FOX about returning to the X-MEN!

Back in June, we reported that Bryan Singer is still interested in directing X-Men Movies. The X-Men and X2: X-Men United director said then:

I don’t know. It’s one of those things where…It’s so weird talking about stuff unless I’m about to ramp up and shoot it.

Well, now he’s talking about it. Yesterday, at South Korea’s Pusan International Film Festival, Bryan Singer said  he’s interested in making another X-Men movie and has discussed the possibility with 20th Century Fox. He said:

I’m still looking to possibly returning to the X-Men franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it. I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast.

I loved Singer’s X-Men movies… but not the last two train wrecks we’ve gotten with Ratner’s X3: Last Stand, and that Origins fiasco. There are so many different X-Men projects in the works, who knows what he could be in talks to direct?! It could be x4, a continuation of his series(where hopefully main characters aren’t still dead). He could take on the prequel First Class, but he sites loving to work with Hugh Jackman, so maybe the Wolverine sequel(also a prequel)? To quote Frank the Tank,”Maybe it’s something really cool that I don’t even know about.”

He added that he loves making science fiction and fantasy movies because they allowed him to discuss serious issues through entertainment. Singer said the X-Men series is about tolerance and social structures. He says that the story allows him to…

…trick audiences into thinking they’re seeing fireworks, but they’re learning about themselves and listening to what I have to say.

As he is also preparing to take on the highly controversial Battlestar Galactica reboot, he added of sci-fi in general:

The excitement about working in science fiction and fantasy is — the stories, if they are good, are about the human condition.

What do you think of Bryan Singer possibly returning to the X-Men franchise?

very good news. was so disappointed with the last two movies, a new one with him directing will be like a breath of fresh air.

    Seriously? NO!

This guy ruined the last Superman. Supposedly a reboot of sorts that didn't go anywhere and the studios know it. Then the X-Men franchise? I understand the liberty that can be taken from translating a work from one medium to the next but come on. The X-Men were horrible. If anyone thought that the last three movies were good needs to get their head and X-Men knowledge checked because that was a load of rubbish.

If the studios see fit for Singer to come back to the X-Men franchise then they are as clueless as he is and the rest of the masses who spent money on the movie when it came out.

There is a well known list of Directors in Hollywood that should not be working in movies and Bryan Singer is number one on there. Along with Brett Ratner. These two were better off doing rapper's videos.

His career is in the crapper and he is begging FOX to be let back in. Sign of desperation? Yeah. Should you let a dog that stinks into your home? NO!

    Everybody wake up!

Brian Singer and Stephen Sommers should create their own studios and call it We Ruin It Productions. The only thing that Singer is good for (and mind you it isnt much) but movies like Valkyrie and Apt Pupil. Action is definitley not one of them.

PS Thanks for ruining what was supposed to be the greatest return of superman ever!!

LOL! Iove that! We Ruin It Productions. LOL! May I use that sometime? LOL!

  6. superme524 on October 13th, 09

You may certainly use that. Any time you like. In fact, any crappy director may also apply. Applications are printed on two-ply for caron copy reasons.
