GATTACA is getting a TV series Adaptation!?

eng_gattaca

If you’ve seen the film Gattaca, then you know what an amazing movie it is. If you haven’t seen it yet, then it’s gotta go on the top of your must see DVD list. Now it looks like Gattaca is getting a TV series.

Denis Leary and Jim Serpico’s production company Apostle Films (Rescue Me) is going to bring this series to life. They have already secured the rights to the feature film and plan to develop it in a one-hour police procedural drama set in the future. The Gattaca smallscreen adaptation will be written by Gil Grant and is being developed through Sony TV’s international division.

It doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a TV remake of the movie, it sounds like it will take place from a different vantage point.  I think it’s a great idea, and I can see the potential that it has. What do you all think about a Gattaca TV series?

It sounds like they are trying to do another Total Recall 2070 type thing. where they make a tv series set in a world based on a movie but with nothing really to do with the film.
