Justin Long Joins Redford’s THE CONSPIRATOR

Justin Long is joining up with James McAvoy and Robin Wright Penn in Robert Redford’s new historical drama, The Conspirator, which tells the story of Confederate sympathizer Mary Surratt (Wright Penn), who was tried as a conspirator in the Lincoln assassination, and Col. Frederick Aiken (McAvoy), who reluctantly agreed to defend her before a military tribunal.
Long is set to play McAvoy’s characters best friend and conscience who is a soldier who lost a limb in the Civil War.
This will be the first period drama for Justin Long, who is mostly known for his comedic film roles and the Mac guy on in th Apple commercials. I think he’ll do just fine in this film.
The movie starts shooting in Georgia this month, and being the big history fanatic that I am, I am really looking forward to seeing this movie!

Yikes, Long speaking in an old-time accent, as a soldier in a period-drama?
Sounds like a recipe for hilarity.
Where did you get the idea about Aiken and his Pal during the Civil War?Aiken is a historical mystery! This movie needs true historical research,Mary Surratt was and is guilty! You can not find the Civil War record of Aiken anywhere.he was a shady character but we do know he corresponded with Jefferson Davis at least two times.
