MOSES gets a Braveheart/300 style Movie made about his life

The Biblical story of Moses will be told once again on the big screen. Twentieth Century Fox and producer Peter Chernin are taking on the new film project which will be a retelling of the story of Moses, from his near death as an infant to his adoption into the Egyptian royal family, his defiance of the Pharaoh and deliverance of the Hebrews from enslavement.

Cecil B. DeMille’s 1956 film, The Ten Commandments, is the definitive Moses movie. Charlton Heston is the best Moses ever! “The Lord of Hosts will do battle for us. Behold his mighty hand!” And Yul Brynner as Rameses is irreplaceable. “You will be mine, like my dog, or my horse, or my falcon, except that I shall love you more – and trust you less.”

It was only a matter of time before we got a new live-action version of the story of Moses. I’m sure the special effects in the new film will be glorious. What the studio wants to do is give the famous story a Braveheart feel, and is it any surprise that they want to throw in a little of that 300 style in it as well? They are going to make it bigger, more violent, and more sexy.

The script will be written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, who recently completed a scripted retelling of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick for director Timur Bekmambetov at Universal.

So who would you cast in the role of Moses and Rameses in the new movie?

Awww….why sexy it up? There's no need to glamorize it was stylish action and battle scenes.
