Optimus Prime as a Transforming Train
I don’t think I’ve ever thought about what Optimus Prime would like like as a locomotive, but here he is, in all his locomotive glory. It actually looks pretty damn cool!
A note from the the the person that painted it.
This is a custom Hearts of Steel : Optimus Prime, built by Griffith of monolith productions, painted by me. Its about 300 parts. This was one of the most difficult paint jobs ever for me, I had to use special resin adhering paints for the base coats. From there, I coated with lacquers and detailed with Testors Model Master enamels.
Check out out these awesome photos below and let us know what you think!

Wow, that’s pretty impresive.
Yeah they should have the Transformers scan new crap for the next film and do something cool…instead of driving all over the damn place..scan a jet!
I dont think they are. Thats why in the screens above he tells how he painted them. He probably got them for himself and painted them on his own time and of which he is very talented.
Transformers as trains? What if they run out of track?
Well then they are SOL, just like the stupid dumbass, ghetto Transformers in the last movie! LOL!
wow thats cool
As the semi rig, Prime's original design was at least logical. He had the right number of wheels and the layout was close enough to realistic. No disrespect to the guy that painted this, but the TRAIN mode is ridiculous. The sculptor should have worked from some photo references of real steam engines.
The ROBOT mode looks impressive.
