SPIDER MAN 4 to Start Shooting March 2010

Sam Raimi recently spoke with MTV’s Splash Page about the 4th installment in the film series of arguably the beloved super hero to ever come from Marvel. The web slinger’s 4th flick will apparently began filming this Spring.
We’re hoping that it’s the first week in March
A statement from Sam Raimi, Director and head of the film production. Pre-production is apparently in full swing as writer Gary Ross finishes up the script.
He’s working on a draft. I just gave him some notes and he’s doing a rewrite right now.
Even though the script isn’t exactly done, Raimi isn’t wasting any time on the pre-production duties.
The production is starting to come together. I’ve got a production designer who is starting to design the sets and the environments that the picture will take place in. We just brought aboard Scott Stokdyk as one of the two visual effects supervisors, and I worked with him on all three ‘Spider-Man’ pictures.
Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have been confirmed to reprise their roles as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson respectively, but there is still no word on any of the other cast members.
None of the casting has really taken place, but we’re starting to think about that now
.I loved The first 2 films and absolutely despised the 3rd film. I really really hope this next flick will be good. Hopefully there wont be too many characters mucking things up this time around. Are you excited for a part 4?

I did not really like the 1st nor the 3rd film but I really enjoyed the second. I think it was due to Alfred Molina being a better and more believable villain than Dafoe as the Green Gobllin
one big MEH.
Just TOO SOON. Getting in, grabbing it, while it's hot,…. What ever happened Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I was hoping somewhere in 2016 or 2020 for another SpiderMan movie, new director, new actors, new look, … A Spiderman movie for a new generation.
i'm still a little up in the air about this one and won't know for sure what I think about it until I see what kind of story they're going for and who the villain is gonna be. I really liked the first one, loved the second, and don't even want to think about the third. But it seems Raimi himself even regrets Spiderman 3, so I think he's got his act together now… I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I say reboot the franchise. And MJ is supposed to be hot. So get someone who is.
Or maybe we could pretend number 3 never happened and take it from the top.
But I will still watch it. I love Spider-Man.
All three Spider Man movies were God Awful. Toby Magure is a horrible Peter and an even worse Spidey Dunst cant act her way out of a paper bag. I love Sam Raimi's other work but this franchise is just too far away from the comic I grew up reading and loved. I want someone to come in and do the comics justice. People worked hard on creating these characters and stories and Hollywood has to come in and destroy it all. The masses will go see the movie no matter what is in it, but there are fans of the franchise that will not go see the movie, would it really hurt the writer(s) to read a few more issues spend a little more time on a marvel Wiki (there are several out there) and really make a movie that everyone will enjoy. Come on Hollywood make an honest man out of Stan Lee.
I really only liked the first movie. The following two movies were utterly ridiculous. Jazz hands?! I would like to see a reboot of the franchise as well. Make it fresh, closer to the comic books and avoid the whole Can-Peter-deal-with-this-life-change-without-getting-too-moody? issue. It's aggravating to watch. As for villians, I think they should finally deal with Dylan Baker as Dr. Curt Conners; he's been in two movies, don't ignore him! Also, dump Dunst. Mary Jane is hot and should be portrayed thusly.
Not all of them! the first one had such potential! But Kirsten ruined MJ and Toby fell flat after the first one (3rd was the worst we all know that…)
The franchise went to the dogs after the 3rd,,, yes that was the producers thinking the fans would love them MORE if they put as many names in the film – which we now know was an epic fail of a choice.
I will always go and see these films – I will own them too *sigh* heck my nick on here is MJ for a reason, I love Spidey but if they make anor film as bad as 3# I may just cry and give up – Batman is looking like the best bet with Iron Man as a good contender… maybe they will feel my love.
AGREED! Kirsten is not MJ at all!
i actually enjoyed the third movie the second one was meh but the first one was the best though i would like a reboot with a new cast…everyone except Jonah
I've never like Dunst as MJ. Petey was always supposed to be a bit out of MJ's league. Dunst isn't in MJ's league either, unfortunately. Toby Magure is decent as Peter; I can handle watching him. #1 was great except for plastic face Green Goblin — should have played him a little closer to the comic. Willem Defoe is perfect, he practically has the Goblin's face! #2 is THE best. #3 was a turd only because the had WAAAY too much crammed into one movie. Too many villains, too many storylines, too much boo-hooing at the end. Too much too much too much. Scale #4 back and focus on one or two strong story elements.
1st movie Great start except for pumpkin headed fang toothed dunst…I just don't get how she got the part! horrid actress and not attractive. MJ is supposed to be a beautiful model who is way out of peters league. 2nd movie AWESOME except for pumpkin heads return. 3rd movie was an EPIC disappointment for all fans of Spiderman. Topher fucking grace as VENOM are you kidding me? The whole movie from start to finish was crap. They ruined Venom and have the nerve to talk about a spin off movie from that starting point? I would love to see them get back on track with the franchise. The next and most obvious villian choice would be Dr.Connors aka The Lizard which they have been teasing since the first movie. They need to do much less pandering to mass audiences and just follow the fans advice. True fans will go back over and over to see a movie they like so they don't need to try for the casual movie goer who may go on opening weekend.
