    I must say this only reminds me of how much better the Tim Burton version is.. Much more true to the book than this was..

    I had this version as a kid on video (oh, how retro), but I never thought the movie was that great, compared to the book..

    As a fan of the book, i agree with @Zyll. I do prefer Gene Wilder over Johnny Depp, even though Depp is closer to the dark side of Dahl's Wonka. I do wish that Michael Keaton was cast in the part as originally planned. He would have been perfect for the role!
