Brian Cox to play a Dwarf in THE HOBBIT?

According to AICN, producers of The Hobbit have started looking for actors to fill the shoes of the dwarf characters, and one of the people they want to cast is Brian Cox. He is possibly a major contender for a dwarf character. This is just a rumor as of right now, the sources that shared this information aren’t sure if it is locked down.

Personally I thin Brian Cox is a fantastic choice to play one of the twelve dwarfs. He has the physicality, the look, and a great dwarf sounding voice. Recently John Rhys-Davies –who played Gimili in Lord of the Rings — said he was asked to portray Gilmli’s father, Glóin, one of the former companions of the hobbit Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, but he turned it down. Perhaps Cox will take on that role.

The one thing we do know, is that if he is cast in the film he will play a dwarf.

I think he is an awesome choice. What do you all think?

He was great as the first Hannibal Lector in Manhunter. Would be awesome as Gloin or maybe even Thorin who would be much bigger part.
