Clueless Director Making Sex in the City with Vampires Movie

This new Amy Heckerling film is the last this we need to see get made. Heckerling made classic films such as, Fast Times At Ridgemont High and Clueless. But this next project she is writing and directing sounds pretty awful. Here’s what the movie is about.
The film will be a modern-day tale of two young female vampires living the good life in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardise their immortality.
So there you have it! That my friends is Sex in the City with vampires, and the last thing we need right is another weak-sauce vampire film. This whole vampire movie phase is getting out of hand.

Actress Krysten Ritter will take on one of the female leads and additional casting is underway. This will mark the first feature starring role for Ritter, who most recently appeared in Confessions Of A Shopaholic and will next be seen in DreamWorks’ comedy She’s Out Of My League.
Production is set to start in March 2010 with Red Hour Films. I’m so not looking forward to this flick, how about you? Does this movie idea in some way interest you at all?

Hi,
The vampire-stories are always interesting to read and watch in the movies.I am impressed with the storyline of this movie.
Venkman, darling. You normally don't let me down! Now, I personally can't stand the idea of yet another useless vampire movie (I'm looking at you New Moon with your wood fairies and werewolves) being made but you gotta give me some rope here.
What exactly about this movie is "Sex in the City"? I don't watch the show but my housemate (bless her and her bad taste) made me watch the movie. Now, as disgusting as it was in general i did enjoy it (the way a girl enjoys bad popcorn. You don't wanna eat it but let's face it, it's more effort to get a fresh batch.) but i fail to see how the ity bity bit of plot info here has anything to do with 4 single women living in a city who blah blah blah. (Thats mostly what i got from the movie!)
Need moar info!
It seems like if you pitch an idea and they don't want to do it you just have to say "OH did i mention there's vampires?" WHOA greenlight that sumbitch!
The reason for the comparison because it seemed funny and appropriate, it may not be 4 single vampire women, but they are two single vampire women living the good life in New York throw in a relationship that jeopardizes their immortal soul and bam! Sex in the City with Vampires! That just the fist think that popped inmy head when I saw this.
You know the phrase "Sex in the City with vampires" was in the elevator pitch for the flick. :-p
