EMH asks the question: Who would you kill from The Office, Dwight or Andy?
The Office is the funniest show on television. I am pretty comfortable saying it’s the funniest show of all time (sorry, Seinfeld fans, but I think it’s funnier when you truly care about the characters). Anyhow, my wife asked me the other day which character I would get rid of if one absolutely had to go.
So I am bringing the question to you. It’s pretty simple. If you had to chose one, who’s gone, Andy or Dwight?
There is only one rule: No matter how long or short your comments are, you must choose one to go! Don’t give me the “I can’t decide line.”
I will give my opinion after I see your comments. Good luck!
Sincerely,
EMH

Andy. Definitely.
What an awful question! Dwight.
Andy. I don't think the show would be half as funny without Dwight. I like Andy, but the show can do without him. Dwight is more important to the show than Andy is.
Andy, keeps the ladies from Dunder/Mifflin from constant sexual harrassment and keeps us from hearing ‘Nard-dog’ spoken ever again
Same answer. Would you imagine the backlash if The Office killed off Dwight.
Andy is the sole survivor of the Stamford branch. That says a lot about the character, as well as Ed Helms — who's done an amazing job walking the line of the over confident, one-upping dork. His character has evolved quite dramatically; first appearing as the conniving short tempered jerk, and now he's the kind hearted hopeless romantic(still a dork) that we all love.
As much as I think Rainn Wilson is incredible, the Dwight character has long been the most over the top aspect of the show — at times so cartoon-ish, that it completely takes you out of the world that the writing and the rest of the cast seem to be perfectly tuned in to. Dwight belongs on a classic sitcom more than he does in Scranton.
Sorry Dwight, and more apologies to Rainn(cuz he is a FUNNY dude), but Dwight needs to be quietly buried in his beet farm.
I agree with most of these comments that Andy's character has grown and progressed into a much loved part of the show. Dwight was everyone's favorite in the beginning but his character has become more stagnant over time. So at the moment I would say Andy, but I really hope Dwight's storyline gets revitalized somehow. I really miss his romance with Angela – it was so perfect and hilarious! It seems like even the jokes between Dwight and Jim have lost a lot of it's zing, which was some of the best humor throughout the series.
I'm definitely going to have to disagree with you Abe.
The segments between Dwight and Jim are some of the best parts of the show.
