Matrix Producer wants to make Muhammad Biopic

One of the producers of the Matrix, Barrie Osborn, is about to embark on another great adventure. He is setting out to make a big-screen biopic on the prophet Muhammad. He is looking to make this quite an epic film, which will have a budget of about $150 million dollars. That’s a pretty big chunk of money for a biopic. That’s the same amount of money being used to make The Green Lantern.
The film will take the audience on a journey through Muhammad’s life, and examine his teachings. Osborn envisions the film as “an international epic production aimed at bridging cultures. The film will educate people about the true meaning of Islam.”
The film will feature English-speaking Muslim actors, and in accordance with Islamic law, the prophet will not actually be depicted on screen. So this will be a biopic about a man that we won’t even see in the movie. This should be interesting. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mustafa, Alnoor’s chairman explains,
The film will shed light on the Prophet’s life since before his birth to his death. It will highlight the humanity of Prophet Muhammad.
The untitled film will most likely start shooting in 2011. There is also another Muhammad-themed drama being developed. Last year, producer Oscar Zoghbi announced plans to remake The Message, his controversial 1976 drama that sparked a fatal siege by protesters in Washington DC. The new version, entitled The Messenger of Peace, is currently still in development.

A biopic about a man we won't see on screen…
Well I'm amped. Guess there won't be any actual casting for him then.
Not a Good idea at all!
Posting tat pic..is not a good idea at all.
hey there, Muslim here.
We know how muhammad looked like ( He had long hair to his shoulders and looked fairly young, since he had only 20 gray hair on his entire body, despite him living to his early 60's before dying). He never wore the clothes you see on that picture there, and wore long garments ( sort of like Jesus, but with patches in his clothing, since he fought battles ). That kind of painting is an entire fabrication and it looks like some sort of random sultan. haha
I think the film could be great, I hope they don't go all ultra conservative on it and just let the director and producer do what they want.
