Clint Eastwoods Secret Project 'Gran Torino'

by Joey Paur

This is pretty interesting. Apparently Clint Eastwood has been hard at work on another film that he is directing and staring in. The movie is called 'Gran Torino'  and heres the kicker, it comes out 3 months after his 'Changeling' film! I had no idea he was even working on another film! It is amazing that he has been able to keep in under wraps for so long. This news was revealed in a interview he did with USA Today

In Gran Tarino Clint Eastwood stars as racist Korean War veteran Walt Kowalski, who reluctantly bonds with a young teenage immigrant Asian neighbor who tried to steal his prized possession: his car, which is a 1972 Gran Torino. He describes his character as unflattering and potentially controversial. Here is whatelse he says about the film:

"I'm a weirdo in it. I play a real racist. ... It's a great time in life (to do that) because, you know, what can they do to you once you're past 70? There's nothing they can do. But it also has redemption. This Hmong family moves in next door, and he has been in the Korean War, in the infantry, and looks down on Asian people and lumps everybody together. But finally they befriend him in his time of need because he has no relationship with his family."

So it looks like Eastwood will get two chances this year at an Oscar. This movie sounds really interesting and it will be great to see Clint Eastwood act again. This is the first film he would have starred in since 'Million Dollar Baby'.

'Changeling' opens up in theaters Oct. 24th, and 'Gran Torino' opens up in Dec.
