Romero Casts His Zombie Crew

Zombie Gets It!

I recently re-watched Diary of the Dead purely because I want to give it a chance because I am a huge Romero nut and this was to be his follow up to Land of the Dead and to be honest I loathed even the second time around theres not alot going for it so when he announced another zombie movie I groaned...like a zombie! but maybe I was to quick to judge? He has started to cast his "Island Zombies" according to Empire.

George A. Romero's announced the cast for his new zombie movie, which we're going to call Something of the Dead until informed otherwise. Most of the cast, however, come in various shades of unknown, but a few have existing horror credentials.

Alan Van Sprang appeared in both Land of the Dead and Diary of the Dead and is back for a third helping of Romero-y goodness, while Devon Bostick also appeared in Land and turned up in Saw IV. Kenneth Welsh starred in, amongst other things, The Fog remake and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, while Athena Karkanis starred in Saw IV.

As for the other three cast members announced today, Richard Fitzpatrick was in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, which was pretty horrific, while Stefano Colacitti turned up in Chronicles of Riddick. And Kathleen Munroe has mainly worked on TV, so she's the most likely to be scared when the dead start to rise on the small island where the story is set.

Also there have been some set photos released over at AICN which shows them shooting principal photography! so its coming together very quickly! which can either be good or really really bad.
