Dark Knight Screenwriter David Goyer puts all Batman 3 Rumors to Rest
It's true what they say about 'The Dark Knight', "It's changed things. There's no going back." But everyone sure as hell got themselves in a big damn hurry to move forward with a new Batman film. I admit I am guilty of it myself. The people really want to see what is going to happen for a 3rd film if their is even going to be a third film. So the whole idea of the next batman movie is being pushed by everyone! The internet is Batman 3 crazy! Fan made posters, character designs, who the villains will be, and who will end up playing the villains. Johnny Depp as The Riddler, Cher and Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, Phillip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin, and several more hopes and dreams. Most recently Production Weekly stating that the film is set to start pre-production next year. But guess what everybody? It's done it over, nothing is happening yet. David Goyer has recently sat down with MTV to discuss the Batman 3 madness that has taken over the web. What's does he say?
"It's all B.S.," he said. "ALL of it."
So what I take this as is Christopher Nolan has not yet signed on to do a third Batman film, none of the casting rumors are true, no casting has even been approached yet because no one knows who the villains are even going to be. It's done it over. When Christopher Nolan is back on Batman 3 is back on. Who knows we may not get another Batman film for another 3 years. Goyer goes on to say:
"Chris and I haven't even talked about it. He quite understandably is taking a long, long vacation and wants to purge himself," Goyer said.
"We have mused here and there [but] I mean Chris is pretty much a one movie at a time kind of guy," Goyer said. "I wish I could tell you more. There really isn't anything to tell."
So there you have it folks. We can speculate all we want who the villains will be and who will be playing them. We can still keep our hopes and dreams for what the next Batman 3 movie will entail. But as of right now... there is nothing. Nothing. Nothing. All past rumors and future rumors can be laid to rest until it comes from the people that really matter.
