Fraggle Rock about to hit the Big Screen

by Billy Fisher

I don't know about all of you, but I loved this show as a kid.  It was one of the only shows that could keep my attention for a half hour.  In my opinion Jim Henson was a true genius and the children of today are getting a sense of his mastery through DVD's and syndication.  I was truly excited, while at a question and answer session with Jason Segel, that the star of Sarah Marshall is currently directing the next Muppet Movie.  Finding out about a live action Fraggle Rock movie is frosting on the cake.  Lisa Henson of the Jim Henson Company said this:

Just like the series, the film will be populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock puppets. . .Pic will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens. The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries. It posted strong sales recently when the first three seasons were released on DVD.

The best part about this is, NO CG!  Somethings are not made better with CG and I am glad that the people involved in this project are staying true to Hensons art.  I would love to know what all of you think about this.
