George Clooney Jumps 'Up in the Air' for a new Movie

Venkman here and it looks like our good pal George Clooney is looking to star in a new film called 'Up in the Air' for DreamWorks, which is based on the novel by Walter Kirn. We reported a while back that this movie is Jason Reitmans next directing gig. The last movie he did was 'Juno' which was great. The trades report:

Clooney will play a ruthless human resources exec who becomes fixated on notching his millionth frequent flyer mile. It's a Pyrrhic victory, considering that his time away from home has left him with no life.

The project is set up at the Montecito Picture Co., which has its first-look deal with DreamWorks.

Ivan Reitman, Pollock, Joe Medjuck and Jeff Clifford for Montecito and Hard C's Daniel Dubiecki will all be involved in producing capacities.

I think its a great fit for Clooney. This film adaptation of 'Up in the Air' is really bring in some great talent.
