Dr. Venkman Reviews: 'Eagle Eye' and loves it!

by Joey Paur

First of all, I have to say that the trailer that was cut together for this movie was brilliant. It gives nothing away for what this movie ends up being. I thought I had an idea and I am sure you all have your ideas of what this film involves but I am going to tell you that you don't have a clue what you are getting yourself into. It is really rare to get a trailer that offers no details of what the movie is. The trailer for 'Eagle Eye' gives you just enough to know it's going to be exciting without telling you a damn thing.

This movie was awesome! It would be very cliché to tell you that it was an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride. But that's what it was! It was fun, exciting, and cool. Exasperatingly fantastic comes to mind. The movie is one crazy ass action sequence after another. Eye-candy galore.

I really don't want to say much about the movie because if I go outside what was set in the trailers all of a sudden I start blowing major spoilers all over the place, and I don't want to ruin the movie for anybody. So lets just say this. Jerry Shaw and Rachel Holloman find themselves forced in a situation where if they don't do what the voice says on the other end of the line there will be deadly consequences. No matter where or what situation they are in the voice has the power to make anything happen. So pretty much what the trailer is. Sorry! You will have to see the movie to get anymore information.

One of my favorite scenes happens right after Jerry and Rachelle meet up for the first time. They have no idea who the other one is and they got a ass load of cops coming after them. The woman's voice come in on the car intercom and says "drive". This scene turns into one of the coolest freakin car chase scenes I have ever seen in a movie! Demolition galore. Better than a Michael Bay car chase. I'm not kidding. Don't believe me? Go to the movie.

The film has a very strong cast that includes Shia LaBeouf as Jerry. I am reminded that this guy can act and he's got some skills. I almost forgot after Indiana Jones 5. Michelle Monaghan as Rachelle was fantastic. She fit that role so well and played it as good as the best. Rosario Dawson, Billy Bob Thornton, Michael Chiklis, and Ethan Embry all had decent size roles but not big enough to impact the quality of the film. They all did a great job, but they were roles anyone could have filled. Is that a harsh thing to say? It was nice seeing them in the movie. Especially Michael Chiklis and Ethan Embry. I liked ‘Can't Hardly Wait'.

The film was directed by DJ Caruso, and he did a smashing good job. It was a pretty complicated movie and there was a lot going on. He was able to bring it all together very nicely. Good job DJ! I can't wait to see what he does with ‘Y The Last Man'.

The story was very fun and original. If there is one complaint I have it's the ending of the movie. It not bad! Don't let that comment turn you off. I just saw it coming and I hate when I see the ending of a movie coming. I like to be surprised. You may not see it so don't worry about it.

Honestly I didn't think the movie was going to be that good. I thought there was to much hype built up around it for it to be as good as they made it look. Eagle Eye is a great time at the movies! You will get your moneys worth. I highly recommend to anyone who likes going to the movies.

Whatever you end up going to see always remember to enjoy your times at the movies.
