John Woo's FLYING TIGERS Film to Star Tom Cruise?

According to a little blurt in Variey, John Woo's next film, Flying Tigers, is being developed as a star vehicle for Tom Cruise who is now attached. Cruise and Woo worked together on Mission Impossible 2 back in the late 90's(released in 2000). I know the script was being written with Crusie in mind, but he wasn't attached to it at the time. If Variety has their facts straight, then perhaps he is really attached to the project.

The movie is based on a true story set in WWII, about a group of American volunteer fighter pilots who worked with the Chinese Air Force to help fight off the Japanese. The film will focus on Claire Lee Chennault, the commander of the Flying Tigers unit that helped end the war in China.

Tom Cruise would play Chennault. I'm sure we will find out soon enough, whether Cruise really is starring in the film. What do you think about Woo and Cruise teaming up again?
