Brian S- How did you get into acting? Any inspirations? Any advise for people trying
to get their foot in the door?

Alana Curry- I actually started out as a dancer doing ballet and tap, so I was always performing on stage productions. Then in high school I started
modeling and then booked some commercials.  I was hooked, it was so much
fun I decided to focus my efforts on acting instead of dance. It worked in my favor,  feel blessed to have kept busing working as an actress in film / tv ever since. I do remember when i first arrived in LA I was a little overwhelmed to say the least.  I went on many auditions before I booked my first job. I learned many things including that this is a business where you get rejected 95% of the time. You have to learn to handle rejection gracefully and not take things personally.

Brian S- So when you're not acting what's your favorite things to do? Activities?

Alana Curry- Well get ready I really enjoy alot of things lol.  I love concerts, shows, live performances, movies, music, fine dining, shopping and traveling.  On an average day you can catch me at spinning class, laying out at the beach and hanging out with my dog & two cats, something I truly cherish.

Brian S- What do you prefer the most, film or television gigs?

Alana Curry- It's hard because i really love both and they are so different. I worked on all kinds of projects- horror movies, soap operas, sitcoms, action thrillers... There are positives and negatives to all. In the words of my friend Director Tim Sullivan: "Shooting a movie is like going to war". Which is true it can be long hours, working thru the nite, dealing with weather elements and such, but after spending countless hours and energy for weeks or even months with the cast and the crew there is a bond there that you have created something wonderful together and there is such satisfaction gained when seeing your work on the big screen. Being part of a television show can be equally as rewarding because you can develop a character over longer periods of time. There is a feeling of family working week after week with the same people, and a steadiness that i really enjoy from television.

Brian S- Ok,let's get serious, kinda! So you're  in the upcoming Mike Nichols thriller 'Breadcrumbs', what can you tell us about it, release date(theatrical or dvd) and your character in the film?

still1

Alana Curry- Breadcrumbs was a blast to make. Talk about bonding with the cast and crew... we were secluded in the Hamptons for a month... not a bad location eh? We shot nights in a giant house in the woods so it created a very spooky feeling. Just walking around the set in the middle of the nite - in the middle of the woods- listening to all the sounds would give me the creeps sometimes.  I play a character appropriately named "Vanity" lol. The story is about a group of actors going out to the woods to shoot a movie.  So basically its a movie in a movie. There's a director, there's a makeup artist, the PA, the new actors, the veteran actress, the diva (that's me).  But soon we learn we are not alone in the woods and the real story takes off from there.  Horror fans are gonna love this one!

Brian S- You have 'Dahmer Vs. Gacy' coming out in 2010 and when I think 'Dahmer Vs. Gacy' I think Alana Curry! Just kidding or am I? But seriously i've seen the two movies based on the two killers and now they have been paired up like a Freddy Vs. Jason match. Tell us about this flick and the character you play.  I know funny man Harland Williams is in it so how'd he end up in a movie like this?  Oh and drummer Steven Adler (from Guns N Roses, i've watched him on Dr. Drew, what's his role in this cool killer flick? Just wondering!

Alana Curry- Dahmer vs Gacy has got it all- the gore, the killers, and best the comedy and you are right indeed-- We are blessed to have a cast of some very funny actors. The storyline is that two of the most notorious killers of all time have been cloned and then get loose!  I play a crazy fan of the serial killers- you know one of those real wack jobs that would write the killers in prison and praise their every crazy move-- yep that me! haha...

Brian S- Ok, now to 2001 Maniacs: Field Of Screams and one i'm really looking forward to! What can you tell us about this highly anticipated cool sequel to Tim Sullivan's 2001 Maniacs?

Alana Curry- Well i am really looking forward to this too! I recently did my ADR sessions and saw some of the footage and it looks awesome! I cant say a lot about the storyline but this is going to be a real treat to watch.

Brian S- You play a character named "Bristol Bush" in which only Tim Sullivan and Chris Kobin could come up with, what can you tell us about "Bristol Bush"?

DSC06524m

Alana Curry- Well Bristol is kind of a lovable snob.  She can be cold with her words but has a lot of warmth to her also.  She is part of the unlucky group that runs into the Maniacs this time around.

Brian S- How'd it feel working with a cool horror legend like Bill Moseley who has replaced Robert Englund as "Mayor Buckman" in this chapter?

DSC06536m

Alana Curry- It is hard for an actor to step into a role that another actor has already created-- but not for Bill.  He took and made it his own effortlessly.  He kept everyone on set laughing and plays an amazing
Mayor Buckman! im sure the fans will be very pleased.

Brian S- What's your funnest memory from this film? Or worst memory, I heard the skeeters were terrible!

Alana Curry- Well I have very good memories from this shoot. We had a lot of fun on this one. We shot in Iowa in the middle of a field which was set up to look like a big carnival. I remember one evening we had to shut down for a couple hours because there was a tornado warning. the sky turned light and the winds & rain picked up. The actors gathered in one trailer and waited till it passed. I guess it happens all the time in the midwest but to little ol me from LA it was a little scary. The biggest challenge besides the elements were the BUGS! Everyone was drenching themselves in insect repellent non stop we all stank like bug spray.

Brian S- How was it working with a cool guy like Tim Sullivan and the Maniac cast?

Alana Curry- The cast was a good blend of personalities, we all collaborated well together and made a fun time out it. It was nice to work with Christa again- this is third film we've done together. (Alana and Christa
Campbell both appear in 'Revamped' & the David Carradine film "Blizhniy Boy the Ultimate Fighter"
)  As for Tim, he is one of the most relaxed, genuine, kind people i have met in this crazy industry. As a director, he is the actors dream- hes supportive, creative, has a great sense of humor, hes open to hearing ideas, and he has a calming quality about him that kept this set running very smoothly despite the hectic schedule. I hope I get to work with him again.

Brian S- Ok, Alana are there any questions you'd like to ask me or the fans out there? Yes, i'm putting you on the spot but this is how I roll.

Serialkillers

Alana Curry- Fans of Horror movies are a very special bunch which is why there are so many horror movies made today and its such a successful genre. So thank YOU for your support- Us actors appreciate it more than you know!

Brian S- Thanks Alana for taking time with me and for being so cool! You freakin rock!
