2009 Golden Globes Nominees Are In

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning in Hollywood, CA. The Golden Globes ceremony will be hosted by Ricky Gervais, and will be broadcast live on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

I think the list of nominations is great! I'm not surprised by many of them, but once again Avatar gets put on the list of films that are up for Best Picture: Drama, and it's awesome to see Inglourious Basterds on the list! I understand why Clint Eastwood's Invictus wasn't included, but Eastwood is up for Best Director. I am really happy to see 500 Days of Summer and The Hangover up for Best Picture: Comedy or Musical. But, I'm disappointed that The Coen Brother's A Serious Man didn't make it on the nomination list. I think the biggest surprise for me was to see District 9 being nominated for Best Screenplay, sci-fi film don't ever really get those kinds of nominations, but it's cool that it got the nom.
