Sundance 2010: HIGH SCHOOL with Michael Chiklis and Adrien Brody

Here’s a film that is going to be premiering at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival that looks like it may be a favorite among movie fans. HIGH school is John Stalberg’s first film and is a dramedy that obviously revolves around High School, pot, and the war on drugs.

The film has a pretty cool cast that includes Michael Chiklis (The Shield) who plays a high school principal who institutes a zero-tolerance anti-drug crusade. He has hair in it and it’s weird seeing him with hair. It also stars Adrien Brody in a very different role than what we are used to seeing him in, you’ll see what I’m talking about when you see him in the picture below.  Rounding out the cast is Colin HanksSean Marquette, Mykelti Williamson, Andrew Wilson, Yeardley Smith, Michael Vartan, Curtis Armstrong, Erica Phillips and Adhir Kaylan.

The film revolves around a perfect high school student valedictorian named Henry Burke, who just tried Pot for the first time. And with the Principle giving mandatory drug tests to all the students he starts to freak out because if he’s caught he gets expelled.

Here is the description from Sundance:

With his college scholarship hanging in the balance, Burke begrudgingly teams up with charismatic pothead Travis Breaux to do the only thing they can think of to neutralize this threat—get the entire student body stoned. In his debut feature, director/cowriter John Stalberg Jr. percolates his deliriously manic narrative with sparkling energy and deviant characters, joyously ramming his protagonists deeper and deeper into frenzied chaos. HIGH school paints its slacker wit with lush broad strokes, firmly accomplishing the conclusive stoner fantasia run hilariously amuck.

Sounds like it could be a fun movie. Check out the photos below and tell us what ya think!
