So it looks like Arnold Schwartzenegger might just pop up in McG's 'Ternminator Slavation'! McG has always beat around the bush on this topic of conversation when it has been brought up by the masses. He has always given us the answer of "I guess you'll just have to wait and see". But while he was at the New York Comic Con this last weekend doing the 'Terminator Salvation' Panel he gave a more solid answer on if Arnold would be in the film or not. Here is what he had to say:

"The T-800s as we know them look like Arnold. The T-800 plays a big role in this movie. I can't quite tell you how we express that... Let me just hint at this: I don't want today's Arnold Schwarzenegger."

Well who would want today's Arnold? Have you seen those pictures of him!? So it sounds like they want the Schwartzenegger from 1984, and there is only three way's to get that.

  1. McG has built a time machine in which he sends a production assistant back in time to get the young Arnold to come back to the future with him.

  2. McG got a blood sample from Arnold, and they have used the DNA to clone a new and improved younger version of the man.

  3. Most likely McG is going to use ILM's top creative minds to make a digital CGI version of the original Terminator.

Those CGI versions of real people have yet to impress me, they have all looked pretty damn fake. Awhile back McG talked about trying to pull off something in Terminator Salvation that has never been done before, but at the time he didn't want to say anything in case they could not pull it off. Here is what he said:

There's one sequence in particular where we're trying to achieve something that's never been done before. I don't want to talk about it because we haven't been successful yet...

I have a feeling this may be what he was talking about, and since he has started to suggest that a younger Arnold will be in the film as the T-800 then maybe they have come to a point where they can pull it off and have it look good. I hope they pull it off, without it looking like a CG Arnold, that would be pretty cool. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
