First Look at Thomas Jane's DARK COUNTRY 3D Film Noir

by Joey Paur

I think Thomas Jane is a underatted actor. I think the guy is a fantastic actor, just watch him in 'The Mist' and you will see what I'm talking about, on top of that the guy is an aspiring filmmaker and fanboy. Thomas Jane has directed his first feature film and it is called 'Dark Country'. Not only is this his first feature but it is a Film Noir genre that has been shot in 3D. Yes, this is the worlds first 3D Film Noir movie. The movie stars Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman and Lauren German. Jane says that the film will...

"remain true to the stylistic choices of film noir, while delivering an immersive reality and visceral experience that only the next generation of 3D cinematography could provide."

He has also said in previous interviews:

"We're going for the effect that Hitchcock used when he made 'Dial M for Murder' than what we saw in Vincent Price's 'House of Wax.' It's a more sophisticated use of the technology which is what we're striving for. Up until now we've seen all of this PG-13 stuff so I want to do an R-rated adult-oriented 3D thriller."

The movie is about a couple en route from Las Vegas who are forced to deal with a body out in the desert making their honeymoon one hellish ride. From what I hear there will be some nice little supernatural elements in the film.

Check out the rest of the photos below! This movie looks like it has got a great style to it and really good cinematography. Sony has picked up the film but no word yet on when it will get released.
