Peter Berg Sank My BATTLESHIP!

I think these movies based on board games are absolutely ridiculous, with the exception of Clue because it was a funny movie. I'm not sure about the remake currently being developed though. Even though Gore Verbinski is attached to it, I am a bit skeptical.  Now the game 'Battleship' will make it's way to the big screen with director Peter Berg. Berg developed films such as 'Hancock' and 'Friday Night Lights'.  I am not sure what they plan on doing for this movie. No details have been released on the story but I can only imagine the kind of stuff that these Hollywood execs will come up with.

Having two friends battle it out on the living room floor for two hour while watching TV will be pretty damn dull. But! What if they bought a magical Battleship game and once they started playing the are transported back in time on a battleship in World War II and they will have to use there expertise on the game to help defeat the enemy in the middle of the pacific.

Or they could make it a dramatic film about one boys dream to become the best Battleship player of all time. The boy comes across and old knowledgeable World War II Navy veteran who take the boy under his wing and teaches the boy what it really means to play Battleship. He begins entering competitions and works his why through to competitive system to become the around.

Or even better, while a brother and sister play battle ship here on earth there is a whole intergalactic battle going on in another universe that they are controlling while playing the game. Little do they know the outcome of the game will destroy an entire alien civilization.

At this point we can only imagine what the movie will end up being like. The film is being developed over at Universal Pictures who are also developing movies on other board games such as  'Ouija Board' with Michael Bays production company,  'Candy Land' which is being directed by Kevin Lima, and then their is Ridley Scott 'Monopoly'.

Yeah, it's getting out of control. I'm really looking forward to UNO the movie. Do you have any movie plot ideas for Battleship you would like to see?
