A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Remake Set Report

Interested in how everything is coming along on the set of the new film remake of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'? I have to say as much as I was against this remake when I first heard about it, I am starting to warm up to the idea and give it chance. There are two things that I like about this movie:

  1. They are going more in depth with the back story of Freddy Krueger and how he was a child molester. Freddy’s Teen victims are not just being punished for his death that is brought on by the victims parents, but these are the kids that told on him in the first place. 2. I also liked that Jackie Earl Haley was cast as Freddy Krueger. If anyone can pull it off he can.

The director of the film Brad Fuller who was a music video director prior to this movie gave an update on his blog about the first shooting day with Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy:

The first time that we saw Jackie with all his wardrobe and make-up.

It was insane.

Jackie is playing to role with incredible intensity. His Freddy doesn't tell jokes, he is simply terrifying. His make-up is so awesome - obviously there will be elements that you all know so well, but there have been advances in make-up and he truly looks like a burn victim.

It is challenging to have a normal conversation with him because he looks so scary. And if that's not enough, he talks with his hands a lot and at one point he pointed to me with the glove and it was terrifying.

I really am looking forward see what he looks like. There is a little bit of excitement building to know that Freddy Krueger is coming back to life. For me to accept this movie though it has toi be better than the original. If it does that hen it was worth it. If it ends up being like the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' or 'Friday the 13th' then it has failed. What are you hoping to see  from this movie?
