Darren Aronofsky makes NATALIE PORTMAN dance in BLACK SWAN

Director Darren Aronofsky is in high demand, and for good reason. He's basking in the sweet-sweet glow of the critical and box office success of his last film "The Wrestler". An unlikely hit that single handedly resurrected the career of actor Mickey Rourke. As talented as Rourke is, I doubt he would be playing Whiplash in "Iron Man 2" otherwise.

So with Hollywood kissing his feet, Aronofsky again uses his magic life giving touch on a project entitled "Black Swan", a supernatural thriller set in the world of New York City ballet, which had been put into turnaround by Universal. Wait, I have to think about this one. Supernatural, Yes! Thriller, Awesome. New York, Who doesn't love the big apple. Ballet, what the huh?! I might be out on this one.

As strange as "Swan" may sound, Aronofsky already has the beautiful and talented Natalie Portman attached to help sweeten the pot. So Natalie Portman will be wearing skin tights clothes and dancing in this movie? I'm back in! See, there goes Darren again. He brought me back to life, and I'm on board. How does he do it?

"Swan" centers on a veteran ballerina, to be played by Portman, who finds herself locked in a competitive situation with a rival dancer, with the stakes and twists increasing as the dancers approach a big performance. But it's unclear whether the rival is a supernatural apparition or if the protagonist is simply having delusions. Sound thrilling enough? If picked up, "Black Swan" could begin shooting as early as this year.

So what's next for Aronofsky? Well he's been developing a reboot of the movie "Robocop". So he'll bring back to life, a story about... bringing a guy back to life. Wow! What can't he do? So how do you guys feel about his upcoming projects?
