Comic-Con by Joey Paur

What a long and incredible day! I have been waiting for this Comic-Con event all year long, and now here we are in San Diego livin it up hardcore geek style! Our trip began around 3:30pm and we drove up in a cool little mini van outfitted with a nice DVD player, so on the way up we popped in Spinal Tap because it is a funny ass film, and a good road trip movie that everyone can enjoy.

Once we got here ,we got all our registration stuff taken care of, and we did a quick run through of the main exhibition hall, and it was the most crowded I have seen ever seen for the Wednesday preview night! I can only imagine how crazy it will be the next few days. I managed to snap a couple pictures that you can see below. I didn't take many because of how ridiculous the crowds were, but I will get you more later.

We had to rush through the exhibition hall so we could get over to the ice cream shop in time to hand out t-shirts to all of our readers who showed up. We even had Master Chief from Halo hangin out with us!

We had a great turn out at the ice cream shop, and it was great to meet some of our readers up close and personal. They were all great people, and I really hope to meet more of you that are out here at Comic-Con. It's awesome to just hang out and talk about all the geeky things we love!

We then went to check out the line for Hall H to see how crazy it would be with all the twilight fans here again this year. They started lining up two day before the event! And the line was crazy long! Check out the picture below of only half the line. We are so hard core, and wanted to make sure we got in the Disney panel to see Tron 2, Alice in Wonderland, and Fox's Avatar panel, that we took shifts standing in line. That's how awesome we are, we don't just talk the talk, we walk the walk. This is so we can bring you the best news we possibly can from this event for those that can't be there to see it.

Then a couple of us headed over to meet up with some of our friends from other websites such as Firstshowing and /Film. While there we had the pleasure of hanging out with the Derrick Comedy crew, who made a little movie called Mystery Team. This is a great group of people to be around. We had a great time talking about everything, from living in LA to trying to work up the guts to go talk to one of the creators of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Kevin Eastman, which we did! He was extremely nice to us, and such a cool guy. It was a total geek-out moment for everybody. This guy created some great characters that we grew up with and loved.

There was also a moment where one of our writers R.P. McMurphy saw Stan Lee sitting down and hanging out in our hotel lobby. He went over to get a picture with him, and was totally denied! So that sucked.

All-in-all it has been a great first day at Comic-Con and I am really looking forward to what ends up happening tomorrow! There is a surprise around every corner at Comic-con, you never know what is going to come up and bite you in the ass.
