EMH BRINGS YOU THIS WEEKEND'S PREDICTIONS AND PAYS HOMAGE TO "NOBBY"

by EMH

I want to give a big congratulations to “Nobby” for his/her predictions last week. I did not say anything during the accountability report because it was rushed to get it to press on time. However, Nobby was about as accurate as you could be last weekend. He predicted Transformers would rake in 108.5 million over its three-day weekend. The battling robots made 109.0 million. But Nobby’s brilliance didn’t stop there. He had The Proposal at 20.4 million. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds brought in 18.6 million, only two million off Nobby’s prediction.

It got even better for Nobby. He had The Hangover at 16.3 million. It made 17.0 million! Nobby was on fire. He called Up at 15.7 million. It made 13.1. He even had My Sister’s Keeper at an impressive 18.1 million. Though it only made 12.4, that is still not too bad. In all, Nobby was only 11.3 million off for the entire top 5! If you take away My Sister’s Keeper, he/she was only 5.6 million off for the top four movies combined. How impressive is that? Well, you try it!

Nobby, this week, you are immortal.

However, I have quickly learned in this business that you are only as good as your last weekend’s picks. So here are mine.

PLEASE BELIEVE ME! I HAVE NOT SEEN A SINGLE BOX OFFICE NUMBER SINCE TUESDAY! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PUBLIC ENEMIES OR ICE AGE ARE DOING!

My picks are as follows:

1. Transformers 50 million

2. Ice Age 40 million

3. Public Enemies 30 million

4. The Proposal 15 million

5. The Hangover 10 million

There. Nice round numbers. I wanted to say The Proposal at 20 million. You have no idea. However, I had to “keep it real” as the kids say.

See you next week,
