It's really no surprise to me that the two main villains in Iron Man 2 are going to team up to fight against Iron Man. *Spoiler Alert* just in case. I don't think it's a spoiler I expected this to happen. The two villains are Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and Whiplash (Mickey Rourke). After all they both have something against Tony Stark. Sam Rockwell confirms that this little villainous team up is going to take place in a recent interview he gave.
He's a rival of Tony's - they are competitors in the weapons industry. I team up with Mickey Rourke and we decide we want to take him down and take down the Stark legacy. He's sort of like a cousin of the Charlie's Angels character I played. The smarmy cousin. But it's Mickey - he does the fighting and the kicking ass in the film.
He also mentions in the interview that he would be interested in playing a the lead superhero in a movie as long as Moon director Duncan Jones was attached to direct it. I'd love to see Duncan Jones take on a comic book flick, at the same time I am really looking forward to his original film ideas being brought to life.
Iron Man 2 comes out on May 7th, 2010, and I can't wait to see it. It's obvious they are going to bigger and better this time around. What are you thoughts on the villainous team up? Does it even surprise? Every villain seems to be teaming up in these comicbook films.
