We've got two new movie posters to share with you all for John Hillcoat's, The Road. This movie has the potential to be absolutely fantastic. If it keeps that same type of feel that the book has then this is one of those films that could go all the way. The film is set to premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, I can't wait to see what kind of reviews it gets.
Starring Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings, Appaloosa) and Kodi Smit-McPhee, The Road is an adaptation of the similarly titled book by Cormac McCarthy, about a father and son who venture across a post-apocalyptic land in search of the sea. The pair are forced to avoid roving bands of cannibals while seeking food and shelter for themselves, all under a sky full of ash that blocks the sun and prevents vegetation from growing.
Charlize Theron (Hancock, Monster) also stars in flashbacks as the Wife to the Man, and mother of the Boy. (No specific character names other than these descriptions are given in either the film or book.) Robert Duvall (Thank You For Smoking) and Guy Pearce (The Hurt Locker) also star.
These posters are incredibly gritty, what you you think of them?

I'm reading The Road at the moment, and these posters really capture the gritty, dark imagery Cormac McCarthy conjures in the book. Can't wait to see the film, I fell in love with the book within the first ten pages.
